Dr. Kasturi Bhattacharjee

Dr. Kasturi Bhattacharjee, MS, DNB, FRCS (Edin), FRCS (Glasg), FAICO, LIMSEA (Harvard Medical School, USA) is an eminent ophthalmologist and distinguished clinician, internationally recognized for her pioneering contributions to Ophthalmic Plastic, Reconstructive Surgery and Oculofacial Aesthetics, and for her innovative solutions to complex surgical challenges.

She is currently the Director (Clinicals and Academics) at Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya, Guwahati, India, and serves as the current President of the Asia Pacific Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (APSOPRS), Incoming President of the Oculoplastics Association of India (OPAI), and Member, Academic and Research Committee of the All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS). She has also served on the Editorial Board of the American Academy of Ophthalmology – EyeNet and is a current Editorial Committee Member of the Indian Journal of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Bhattacharjee is the first and only woman ophthalmologist from India to have received the three highest national awards from AIOS for her pathbreaking contributions to research and academics namely the Col. Rangachari Award (2008), E.T. Selvam Award (2009), and C.S. Reshmi Award (2022). In addition, she has been honored with over 60 national and international awards, reflecting her leadership and excellence in cataract, refractive surgery, and ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery and Oculofacial Aesthetics.

A Global Examiner for FRCS (Glasgow) for over two decades, she has published more than 144 papers in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals, and her work spans surgical innovations, aesthetic procedures, ocular and Orbit disease management, and novel therapeutics. She has presented over 1000 scientific papers, delivered 800+ keynotes, orations, and invited lectures, and performed numerous live surgical demonstrations at prestigious national and international conferences.

Mentorship and education are at the heart of her career. She has trained hundreds of ophthalmologists in India and abroad, many of whom now lead high-quality eye care services. In recognition of her inspirational role, she received the “Role Model Award 2017” from the Women Ophthalmologists Society of India. Her hands-on training sessions on Injectable Facial Aesthetics are among the most sought-after courses globally. She has been a faculty for skill-transfer programs at the American Academy of Ophthalmology, All India Ophthalmological Society, and the Oculoplastics Association of India, cementing her role as a global leader in ophthalmic education.

Dr. Raveewan Choontanom is an oculoplastic surgeon and academic leader recognized for her contributions to clinical training, surgical simulation, and educational reform in ophthalmology. She trained in Germany, where she earned her doctorate (Dr.med.) and specialist certifications in ophthalmology with subspecialty training in oculoplastic and pediatric ophthalmology. She also holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Epidemiology from Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand.

Dr. Choontanom is currently Director of the Department of Ophthalmology at Phramongkutklao College of Medicine and Head of the Oculoplastic Unit at Phramongkutklao Hospital. She serves as President of the Thai Society of Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ThaiSOPRS) and Chair of the Residency Training and Examination Subcommittee of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists of Thailand.

She is known for her expertise in eyelid, lacrimal, orbital, and aesthetic surgery, as well as for her leadership in educational innovation and simulation-based training. Her current work focuses on advancing ophthalmic education through interprofessional collaboration and global partnerships, including a reciprocal society relationship with the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) and strategic collaboration with the Asia-Pacific Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (APSOPRS).

Dr. Richard Allen is a leading oculoplastic surgeon in Houston, Texas, and Professor of Ophthalmology at Baylor College of Medicine.
He is also a Professor with Tenure in the Department of Ophthalmology at Baylor College of Medicine.
He serves as Chief of Ophthalmology at Ben Taub Hospital, sees patients at Texas Children's Hospital and Alkek Eye Center, and is President-Elect of IJCAHPO.A past President of ASOPRS and Editor-in-Chief of Orbit, Dr. Allen is internationally recognized for his expertise.

Dr. Allen graduated from Duke University with a BS in Chemistry and then attended Baylor College of Medicine where he received both an MD and PhD.
He trained at Duke University, Baylor College of Medicine (MD/PhD), and the University of Iowa, where he completed residency and fellowships in ophthalmic genetics and oculoplastics.
He completed a residency in ophthalmology and a fellowship in oculoplastic surgery under the mentorship of Dr. Jeffrey Nerad at the University of Iowa.

He has also held academic and clinical positions in New Mexico, Iowa, Sweden, and Texas.
Dr. Allen is a member of ASOPRS, ESOPRS, and the Orbital Society.
He has authored over 140 peer-reviewed publications and has lectured extensively, both nationally and internationally.
His online surgical atlas, www.oculosurg.com, is recognized worldwide.
Passionate about education, he created Oculoplastic Surgery Videos, a free global resource featuring hundreds of narrated surgical procedures used by trainees and surgeons worldwide.

Dr. Angkoon Luangaram is a visiting faculty in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Unit at Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, Bangkok, where he also completed his fellowship training. His professional interests focus on the development of simulator-based training tools for oculoplastic surgery. Actively engaged in academic and professional communities, he is a member of the Asia-Pacific Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (APSOPRS) and serves on the academic subcommittee of the Thai Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has presented his research at both national and international levels. In addition to his professional work, Dr. Luangaram enjoys photography and drawing as creative pursuits.

Dr. Preamjit Saonanon is an Associate Professor in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree with first-class honors from the same university in 2004, and completed fellowships in Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery at both Chulalongkorn University and the University of California San Diego. She has held various leadership roles, including being a member of the executive committee for the Asia Pacific Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery from 2019 to 2020 and for the Thai Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Saonanon also directs her own clinic, Saonanon clinic, which he established in 2016. A prolific researcher, Dr. Saonanon has authored many peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. Her research spans a wide range of topics in ophthalmic surgery, including reconstructive surgery for orbital fractures, eyelid anatomy, and orbital fibroblast for thyroid eye disease.

Dr. Alice Goh is a board-certified, fellowship-trained oculoplastic surgeon and the first ophthalmologist in Malaysia accredited by the Ministry of Health (LCP) to practice aesthetic medicine. She specializes in cosmetic eyelid surgery and facial rejuvenation, emphasizing natural, balanced outcomes.

Dr. Goh trained under world-renowned oculoplastic experts at Samsung Medical Center, Seoul, and the Jules Stein Eye Institute, UCLA, Los Angeles. She was the founding chairperson of the Malaysian Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (MSOPRS).

She currently serves on the executive council of the Asia Pacific Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (APSORPS) and as treasurer of the Malaysia Society of Aesthetic Medicine (MSAM).

In addition to running a successful private practice in Kuala Lumpur, she is an appointed trainer in periorbital injectables and aesthetic ultrasound, contributing to practitioner education and safety standards. Dr. Goh is widely recognized for her leadership in cosmetic oculoplastic surgery and aesthetic medicine across the region.

Dr. Yvette Marie B. Santiago-Gatmaitan is the Secretary of the Asia Pacific Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Immediate Past President of the Philippine Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

She heads the Orbit and Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery sections at St. Luke’s Medical Center, Ospital ng Maynila, and Dr. Paulino J. Garcia Memorial Medical Center where she is actively involved in ophthalmology residency training. She is also an Assistant Professor at St. Luke’s College of Medicine. Dr. Santiago completed her clinical fellowship in Orbit and Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery at Massachusetts Eye & Ear, Harvard Medical School.

She was an editor-in-chief of eFocalPoint, the Philippine Academy of Ophthalmology’s newsletter, and is a contributing author to several international orbit textbooks.

Dr. Kelvin Chong

Prof Kelvin Chong is the first full-time academic in orbital and oculoplastic surgeries(OOPS) in Hong Kong. He is the Clinical Associate Professor, Chief of Orbital and Oculoplastic Surgery, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong(CUHK). He serves as the Director of Eye Centre, CUHK Medical Centre and Honorary Consultant Ophthalmologist of 6 public hospitals.

His research focuses on thyroid eye disease(TED), IgG4-related ophthalmic disease, and minimally invasive OOPS. He pioneered the first thyroid eye clinic and image-guided medical and surgical decompression for TED. He led multiple randomized clinical trials(RCT), introduced Mohs micrographic surgeries, sentinel lymph node biopsy, endoscopic navigation, 3D-printing, and dacryoendoscopy to HK.

He published over 120 peer-reviewed articles, 10 book chapters, 15 patents, and delivered over 180 invited & keynote lectures. He trained 16 postgraduate students, 17 OOPS fellows and obtained >US$3.5 million as Principal Investigator of 26 competitive research grants. He was bestowed 2 research, 3 invention, 7 conference presentation, 9 service and achievement awards.

He co-founded and presided the Hong Kong Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery(HKSOPRS) and is currently the President-elect of the Asia Pacific Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeries(APSOPRS).

Dr. Akshay G. Nair is an ophthalmic plastic surgeon currently affiliated with Dr. Agarwal's Group of Eye Hospital and Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital, Mumbai, India. He trained in ophthalmic plastic surgery and ocular oncology at LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, India and the New York Eye & Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai.

Dr. Nair has authored over 150 indexed scientific papers published in peer-reviewed journals and has also contributed to 17 scientific textbooks. He has been the recipient of the 'Achievement Award' by the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology and the All India Ophthalmological Society. He serves as an elected member on the executive councils for the Oculoplastics Association of India and the Asia-Pacific Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr. Nattawut Wanumkarng grew up in Bangkok, Thailand. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Mahidol University – Siriraj Hospital, one of the country’s most prestigious medical schools, before completing his residency in ophthalmology at Siriraj Hospital. He later pursued advanced fellowship training in Orbital and Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the world-renowned Shiley Eye Center, University of California, San Diego, under the mentorship of Dr. Don O. Kikkawa.

Dr. Wanumkarng is a diplomate of the Thai Board of Ophthalmology and has dedicated over two decades to advancing the field of oculofacial plastic surgery. He currently serves as Director of AtEye Clinic in Bangkok and as Oculoplastic Staff and Fellowship Program Director at Bumrungrad International Hospital

He is widely recognized for his expertise in cosmetic and reconstructive eyelid surgery, endoscopic lacrimal surgery, orbital trauma repair, and thyroid eye disease management. Dr.Wanumkarng pioneered flap-suturing techniques in endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR), which have set new standards for lacrimal surgery. His innovations and refined surgical artistry have earned him numerous awards, including the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) Achievement Award in 2017, Best Lacrimal Paper, and Best Lacrimal Video Awards in 2016 American Academy of Ophthalmology Meeting (AAO).

Dr. Wanumkarng has published scientific articles and textbook chapters and has been invited to present his work at leading conferences around the world, including APAO, ASOPRS, AAO, KSOPRS, JSOPRS and WSOPRAS. Over the years, he has trained and mentored multiple generations of residents and fellows in oculoplastic surgery, helping to shape the future of the specialty in Thailand and the Asia-Pacific region.

Today, Dr. Wanumkarng continues to combine innovation, compassion, and surgical precision, offering world-class expertise in eyelid, lacrimal, and orbital surgery to his patients in Bangkok while sharing his knowledge with colleagues worldwide.

DR STEPHANIE YOUNG is the Director of Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Eagle Eye Centre, Singapore and the Medical Director of Eagle Aesthetics & Surgery.

She is a Visiting Consultant to the Ophthalmology Department in National University Hospital (NUH). Dr Young has a keen interest in surgical and non-surgical Oculofacial Aesthetics.

She is a trainer for several aesthetic injectables and devices, and speaks extensively at international conferences. She is active in Oculoplastic-related research and has also won several Ophthalmology-related awards including Gold Medal for Ophthalmology (NUS), Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) Achievement Award, American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) Achievement Award, and the Wong Hock Boon Society Outstanding Mentor Award. A graduate of Harvard University (A.B. magna cum laude) and Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, she completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an ASOPRS-accredited fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center. Dr. Pimkwan plays an active role in research, education, and international collaboration, serving as Head of the Academic Committee for the Thai Society of Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (ThaiSOPRS) and an Executive Council Member of the Asia-Pacific Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (APSOPRS).

Boris Meshkov

Boris Meshkov is an independent director and musician based in Bangkok. His recent work includes the award-winning horror short Crush and the sci-fi/cyber videos for Vietnamese pop stars, hip hop and indie acts, as well as documentaries on Thai food and history, with over 20 years of experience.

He fronts punk band HELP and plays in various side projects. Born in Ulyanovsk, Russia, Boris began as a child TV host at 7, studied film, music, and photography from 15, hitchhiked across 20 countries, and lived in five. He worked in China as a teacher and videographer, then in Vietnam as a director from 2020-2022. He moved to Bangkok in 2022, where he continues making films and music.

Willem Deenik is a Dutch photographer based in Bangkok. When Willem arrived in Southeast Asia in 1995 he was working as an editorial photographer for publications in Europe. After many years of living in Thailand he established Fame Lights studio in the Thonglor area in Bangkok and switched to the commercial side of photography.

Willem has now had more than 10 years of experience in photographing food and beverages for restaurants and hotels, products for a wide variety of commercial clients, and hotels and resorts for international brands such as Accor, InterContinental, and Minor Group. Willem's expertise lies in the skillful use of artificial light in both studio and lifestyle photography. He controls light in a way that makes the subject look natural and at the same time dynamic and vivid to create compelling images that help sell his clients' services and products.

JORGE LAREAU is a filmmaker and photographer trained professionally in Spain (ESCAC-University of Barcelona), where he got his bachelor’s degree inDirection Program. His thesis film, 'Elephants Over a Spiderweb', currently holds more than 6.5 million views on Youtube and has gained praise by cultural institutions and won several prices in film festivals.

Jorge first started his professional career working as trainee assistant directorin feature film productions such as Red Lights, Buried, Grand Piano or Gunman.Working on set next to big Hollywood stars as Robert De Niro, Sigourney Weaver, Ryan Reynolds, Cillian Murphy, John Cusack or Sean Penn.

In between features, he developed his visual and directorial skills directing short films and working as independent filmmaker. Working in America, Europeand in Asia, he gained ample practical experience in different types of productions, from branded and internet commercials, to documentaries andmusic videos. In 2014 he moved to Thailand where he created his own production company, Mercury Studios, to further develop his portfolio as commercial filmmaker and photographer. He has directed for international brands, companies and organisations such as Apple, UN, Lazada, Pepsodent,Nissan or Greenpeace. As a professional photographer, he has shotinternational campaigns for Toyota, Signal or Oppo, as well as photographed forinternational fashion and jewelry brands.
